Privacy Policy

Sincerise is a dating app. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are. We never sell your data.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
App publisher: Boris Steve Nlend Nlend, Parma, Italy. Contact: contact@sincerise.app.
2. Data we collect
- Waitlist (sincerise.app website): if you leave your email address to be notified at launch, we store that address and the language of the page. Nothing else.
- Account: first name, username, email address (or Google sign-in), password (stored only in encrypted form), date of birth, gender.
- Profile: photos, intro video, written bio, interests, lifestyle, languages, search preferences.
- Location: city or approximate position, to suggest nearby profiles.
- Interactions: likes, matches, messages (text, photos, voice), notifications, reports and blocks.
- Sensitive data (optional): your religion or beliefs, if you provide it, and the genders you are looking for, which may reveal your sexual orientation. See the next section.
- Verification: a profile verification photo or video, if you choose to provide one. It is used only to verify your profile.
- Purchases: subscription and credit information. Card payments are processed by Stripe: we never see or store your card number.
- Advertising: if you agree, Google AdMob uses your phone's advertising ID to show ads.
- Technical: app language, notification token, IP address and sign-in attempts (for security).
3. Sensitive data
Some information falls under the "special categories of data" of the GDPR (Article 9): your religion or beliefs, and your search preferences (the genders you are looking for), which may reveal your sexual orientation.
- We only process them with your explicit consent, which you give by providing them.
- Religion is optional: you can skip that step when you sign up.
- If you provide your religion, it is visible to other members on your profile and is used by the search filter (for example, to see only profiles of the same religion).
- You can change this information at any time in your profile, and withdraw your consent by writing to support@sincerise.app or by deleting your account. Withdrawal does not affect what was done before.
- We never use them for targeted advertising and we never sell them.
4. Why we use it
- To create and run your account, show you profiles and manage matches and messages.
- To send notifications and emails needed for the service (codes, account recovery, security).
- To manage subscriptions and payments.
- To show ads, only if you have agreed where the law requires it (in the European Union, a screen asks for your choice).
- To send you a single email on launch day if you joined the waitlist. That address is not used for anything else.
- To protect the community: moderation, fighting fake profiles and abuse, account security.
5. Legal basis
- Providing the service (contract): account, profiles, matches, messages, subscriptions and credits.
- Consent: sensitive data, personalised ads, notifications, the launch email for the waitlist, profile verification by photo or video.
- Legitimate interest: security, moderation, fighting fake profiles, fraud and abuse.
- Legal obligation: keeping certain data where the law requires it.
6. Who we share it with
Other members see your profile information. Our technical providers process data only to run the service: hosting (Railway), payments (Stripe), email delivery (Brevo), sign-in and maps (Google), advertising (Google AdMob), notifications (Expo). We may also disclose data if required by law.
7. Transfers outside the European Union
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, notably in the United States. These transfers are covered as the GDPR requires (adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
8. Retention
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Privacy and security), your profile, messages and related data are erased, except what the law requires us to keep.
If you joined the waitlist, your address is deleted one month after the app launches, or earlier on simple request to support@sincerise.app.
9. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, object to certain processing, or ask for an export. Most of this can be done in the app; for the rest, write to support@sincerise.app. You may also withdraw a consent you gave at any time, ask for a processing to be restricted, and receive your data in a reusable format.
You can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country. For Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
10. Automated decisions
We make no decision based solely on automated processing that has legal effects on you or significantly affects you. Reports and profile verifications are reviewed as part of moderation.
11. Security
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, sign-in attempt limits and account lockout in case of abuse.
12. Minors
Sincerise is for people aged 18 and over. We delete any account we learn belongs to a minor.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. For significant changes, we will tell you in the app.
